Serrara Fontana village, is
the hightest of Ischia island. It extends from Sant' Angelo
to Monte Epome in an evocative combination of sea-spots and
hill-areas and it has preserved his original architecture. The
main economic activities are the fishing and the agriculture,
but above all the viticulture many hotels offer ospitality
a many italians and foreign touristic. Sant'Angelo is the most
exclusive centre of the islands. The most important monuments
are the Assunta and the San Michael church, the
Madonna of Montevergine church, and the one of S. Maria
della Mercede, the San Nicola hermitage and
the little church S. Nicola di Bari. The Serrara
square is on 400 metres on the sea and has a beautiful
view. From the Fontana square you can see Capri, Procida and the Costiera
Amalfitana. A little road near the square goes to the Monte Epomeo
that dominates all the island.
